30 January 2025: Navigating export controls and sanctions Compliance
Join us at the next Brussels Sanctions Roundtable on 30 January 2024 for a Brussels Sanctions Roundtable session with two highly experienced experts, Mr. Bogdan Evtimov and Ms. Coline Cauvin, joined by Mr. Andrew Binstock (US National Security Law & Regulatory Compliance, DLA Piper), who has graciously agreed to share his expertise on US export controls. The panelists will each start with a presentation, but we encourage active participation of all attendants in the discussions following the presentations.
The panel discussion will begin with an overview of the global export control framework, focusing on the EU’s Dual-Use Regulation and its connection to sanctions regulations.
The panel will start from key primary and secondary sources to ensure a foundational understanding and cover recent developments, including
- two new EU Commission FAQs on circumvention and enhanced due diligence for CHPI operators.
- Developments in non-EU developments in export controls, such as the Triseal Note from OFAC, BIS, and DOJ in the US, highlighting shared compliance expectations for non-US operators.
- The growing role of financial institutions in export controls, following recent BIS guidance, and conclude with updates from the UK, including the establishment of the new OTSI authority, offering a supplementary perspective.
The Roundtable will be followed by an in-person networking drink for the in-person attendants.
A certificate of attendance can be provided at request.
